    All true regarding candidate psychology. I just started the job search process a little over two months ago. Got interviews (multiple rounds) with 3 different companies. Only one hiring manager bothered to respond to my thank you email. Nothing else from any of them, even the recruiters, even the company who called me back for 4 rounds of interviews. It’s been weeks, but it’s all crickets. Like if you’re going to get me through the interview process, have the decency to give me some kind of response, even if it’s a rejection! Jeez. I’ve moved on to other job applications at this point. Even if they came back to me with an offer at this point, I’ve already moved on. Anything longer than 2 weeks is completely unreasonable, especially after we invested our time and energy into multiple rounds of interviews.

    Burnout is the result of becoming dissatisfied with the toll the task is taking on you without feeling like you’re doing something worth the investment. It happens in everyone, some allow it to take over, while others barely notice it because they find a new way to meet or exceed prior dopamine and serotonin levels. It seems as if you replace your feeling of burnout by “getting a coach” simply because you see them as successful, most want to become that level and standard of success, and see themselves arriving there by constantly raising the bar to impress said coach. Why would you need a coach who can barely remember you as an individual, is more in sales than their previous position of being a headhunter (in this case) and isn’t familiar or invested beyond their cut of the spoils? Seems and smells like desperation. Good luck though, never gonna shame someone for trying to run up their net worth, just remember your kids won’t recall how much you spent on them at the shore when they were eight… they will remember every sporting event, play, and extracurricular activity they worked hard for you to see. Only you didn’t see it. Not all about the bag, but it’s your life, and I wish you the utmost success in your endeavors.

    I'm slowly coming around about texting candidates as a follow up to previous emails and linkedIn connection request messages. You make an absolutely spot on point in that most people prefer texting over phone calls now. We all screen out incoming calls from phone numbers we don't recognize. I'd love to add a link to the job that would take them to my careers page where they could not only review the JD but upload their resume if interested. I'm just wondering whether candidates would think it's a spam message with a nefarious link attached. But as you said, it's going to be several small chunks of communication. So maybe when they respond to the initial text, I could ask if they'd like a link to the JD? Just wondering what your thoughts on that would be. Thanks!

    • @TheMillionaireRecruiter
      @TheMillionaireRecruiter 11 днів тому

      A link does scare people with all this nonsense fraud. With that said, the text is the starter. You can send your Linkedin profile, then the job. Or what about a voice text? That's a cool feature via Linkedin as well as just normal text.

    faster sales cycles is a big one, especially if as a realtor you work in an expensive market. Another big one - usually as an agency recruiter you get at least some base salary which allows you to support yourself until commission comes in, while in real estate if you don't close for some time and run out of your savings, you're pretty much in survival mode or forced to get a job on the side.

    • @TheMillionaireRecruiter
      @TheMillionaireRecruiter 13 днів тому

      Most agency recruiters work on a draw. So commission only. I think that's the way to go. Bigger the risk, the bigger the reward

    • @veranakhim
      @veranakhim 13 днів тому

      @TheMillionaireRecruiter could you please elaborate what do you mean by on a draw? From my experience working at an agency, I was getting a base+commission.

    • @TheMillionaireRecruiter
      @TheMillionaireRecruiter 13 днів тому

      @@veranakhim For example, you would get a $3k a month draw + commission. Let's say it's May, you got $3k but didn't close any deals. Yet in June, you closed 10k of commission. You would get $7k in your paycheck, because the $3k goes to the agency. Does that make sense? When you have a base, you keep the base no matter what. Which means your commission isn't as high as it would be if you had a draw. You might get $60k in a base, and 10% commission. Whereas a full commission recruiter would have a $3k a month draw and 40% commission

    • @veranakhim
      @veranakhim 12 днів тому

      @TheMillionaireRecruiter gotcha! So basically, the agency is loaning you the 3K base and you pay it back once you close the deal. I wonder what happens if you don't close a deal for a few months and then close let's say one deal, you have to 3kXthe number of months you didn't close, right?

    • @TheMillionaireRecruiter
      @TheMillionaireRecruiter 12 днів тому

      @@veranakhim Typically the agency works with you to keep 3 months of money in the till so you aren't feeling this pain. But yes, if you go three months without, you are supposed to pay it back.

      @@TheMillionaireRecruiter I think you've covered the main things but maybe just a couple of additional things to add: - Stick to standard fonts like Arial, Tahoma, or Calibri. Use font sizes between 10 and 12 for the body text. Avoid using headers, footers, and special characters that can confuse ATS. - While it's important to use keywords from the job description, make sure they fit naturally within the context of your resume. Avoid keyword stuffing, which can be obvious and off-putting to human readers. - Start your bullet points with strong action verbs like "managed," "developed," "implemented," "led," and "created." This not only helps with ATS but also makes your accomplishments more compelling to recruiters. - Have a dedicated section for skills, and include both hard and soft skills relevant to the job you're applying for. Make sure these skills are also reflected in your work experience to provide context. Use numbers, percentages, and metrics to quantify your accomplishments. For example, "Increased sales by 20%" or "Managed a team of 15." This adds weight to your achievements and is often favored by both ATS and recruiters.

    Even 5 minutes is way too much to prepare a sales call. Unless it’s very targeted and a very special prospect you really want to work with. I need to make 20 client calls a days at my agency, I can’t imagine if I had to prepare them for 100 minutes, way too much. And that’s only for the calls that’ll be landed! Nothing more frustrating than preparing a call and the person doesn’t even pick up. Whether it’s recruting or any other type of sales call, you only need to know the name of the person you wan to talk to and general information about the company. I personally prepare my call list by sector (retail, real estate, banks, etc), people and their role and then I just hit that list and go to the next one without thinking. I would suggest to also not rely on job ads too much because if the job is posted, you can be sure you’l’ be the 2nd, 3rd, 10th recruiter to call them and they’ll get tired. In recruitment, you should know about a role before it’s officially opened, that’s why I target my lists differently than based on job opened

However, if you have a premium account and someone else in the group you are in, also has an open premium account, you can message them for free. As far as I know, it's impossible to know who has an open premium account so I would just go into your groups and try to message people and see what happens. I just tried it and 9 out of 10 people that I wasn't connected to I was able to message for free. Good luck and happy hunting

    I think this will only work for higher level positions where most applicants have the money to spend on this. As an internal recruiter, I would worry that going with a candidate provided by a recruiter represented by them and paid for by them that essentially this person is paying to get a job over other people, which makes me feel like classism is now entering and influencing the hiring decision. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the idea of candidates having representation, as the dynamic is unbalanced in the manager’s favour. However, we have to be careful about the model of how the recruiter gets paid so everyone has equal access to this representation and it doesn’t further marginalize people already struggling.
